Nuria Segura is the founder and director of the private school and Akua Foundation. She holds a bachelor's degree in business from ICADE, A master's degree in advertising from EADA and a master's degree in multiple intelligences. Previously, Nuria created three alternative schools for children and has more than 19 years of experience in transformative projects or creating companies from different sectors. She has also worked and continues to work on self development through various techniques and life itself. Since 2010, Nuria has dedicated herself to creating and materializing new forms of business that respect the earth and humanity.
Macu Resines, Akua School’s Pedagogical Director. She graduated in education sciences, specialising in preschool and primary education. She holds a degree in multiple intelligences, governing skills, neuro-functional development and school learning. She is a consultant for the International Montessori Association. Her career is characterised by her participation in the design and implementation of projects in the areas of educational innovation, leadership and participatory planning, curriculum design, educational assessment, environmental education and gender. She has 30 years of experience in training teachers and parents in the public and private sector. She was a founder, adviser and director of several colleges of basic education, as well as social organisations, where she lead some educational projects in highly marginalized communities for over 16 years. She is currently a member of the Montessori Canela trainer’s team.
Carol is the coordinator of Akua School and Foundation. Carol has a degree in Business (AUT -Auckland University of Technology), a Postgraduate degree in Waldorf Early Childhood Education, a course on Anthroposophy in Dornach, Switzerland, an MBA in Sustainability Management (FGV Fundação Getulio Vargas), a course on Project Management (PMP) and a degree on Organizational and Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC). She graduated in Talent's Pedadogy. She has extensive experience of emotionally accompanying children with great sensitivity. Carol loves to be with children, to practice yoga, meditate, play volleyball and to be with her family and friends. She has spent over 15 years studying the human being from all its different perspectives and through her own personal development. Carol is a happy person!
Victor Carrera has worked at Television de Catalunya (TV3) since 1985 with various responsibilities, including production manager of news and documentaries, director of international relations and content distribution. He has been a member of the Executive Committee of Catalan Films & TV for 10 years and General Secretary of MS Frontiers for 5 years. In this NGO he assumed various responsibilities in Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda.
Director, musician, choreographer, playwright and dancer, Elias Vivancos was trained in the school dedicated to the Art of Form founded by his father, the great artist, philanthropist and teacher Pedro Vivancos. He graduated from Qüánticoh Independent School (BBC) at the Professional Conservatory of Dance (Barcelona), and at the BC Conservatory of Music (Vancouver). Elias, who speaks fluently in three languages, lived as a child in the main cultural capitals of the world, learning the form to understand the art and the spectacle of each people, as well as the idiosyncratic diversity of their cultures. With nearly 1,800,000 spectators, more than 900 performances behind him and numerous awards for his work Los Vivancos currently known around the world.
Josep Maria Ortado is a lawyer (ESADE 99) and founder of M&O lawyers firm, specialising in international taxation and foundations. M&O is one of the few law firms specialising in Spanish and International Tax International Trade Consulting. In his role, Josep advises clients on their expansion plans in their acquisitions, divestitures in everything that affects the development of your business. The company has clients of all types, from listed companies, some of them among the Fortune 500, to family businesses and even start-ups. Josep M. Ortado is particularly concerned about everything related to education and devotes his time to collaborate actively in education projects.
Dr. Ramon Segura is an Emeritus Professor of Physiology for the Faculty of Medicine at University of Barcelona, a Professor of Vocational Medical School of Physical Education and Sport and a member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia. He has also been a professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is especially dedicated to energy metabolism and the role of nutrition in sport, and has advised various elite professionals, including the first team players of FC Barcelona during the seasons 1999-2012 with Pep Guardiola as coach in the last three seasons.
Pere Raventós is a founding partner of the law firm of lawyers and economists Sainz & Raventos. With over 37 years of experience, Sainz & Raventos lawyers and economists have specialists in different areas of law and taxation advice. Notably, they have a long track record in managing three major schools of Barcelona. Pere's qualifications and experience include: a Bachelor of Business Administration from ESADE, an Auditor at Grant Thornton International from 1980 to 1986 and a tax consultant since 1986 in office Sainz & Raventos lawyers and economists.
Jaume Zardoya is the father of Julia and Meritxell. He has a degree in Computer Science from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, with over 25 years experience as an executive in large corporations (Everis / DMR, PepsiCo) and a manager of large size teams of 300+ in a variety of geographic locations and functions. 2014 was an important turning point in his career when his focus shifted to the area of personal growth, leveraging his extensive experience in developing teams. He studied Psychology at the Open University of Catalonia, is a trained coach for The Coaches Training Institute school. Jaume currently co-leads the coercive community of Barcelona.
Pedro García Aguado is the coach of Cuatro TV's programmes Hermano Mayor and El Campamento. He is tne of the best Spanish water-polo players, an Olympic champion, world champion and international player 565 times. Currently, Pedro Garcia Aguado combines his work in television with his job of specialised coach in different areas related to the disease of addiction and disorderly conducts in adolescents. He also offers lectures and hosts workshops for parents with the aim of finding tools to help them learn more about education for their children, emphasizing educational values and promoting emotional intelligence as fundamental pillars in their development.
Pere Arcas is the company director of Ask Yourself, specialising in the design and production of audiovisual and multimedia resources for education. He is a professor of visual language and strategies ITC Faculty of Education and Pedagogy at the University of Girona. He has developed his career as a journalist, producer, screenwriter and executive director of programmes on Radio 4, Radio Catalunya, Catalonia Information and Television of Catalonia. Has been the head of educational programmes and learning projects at the Television of Catalonia for the past eight years.
Ignacio Morgado Bernal is a Professor of Psychobiology at the Institute of Neuroscience and part of the Psychology Faculty at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He has conducted studies and research in universities Ruhr (Germany) and Oxford (UK) and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech, USA). Physiological Psychology teaches and conducts experimental research on Empowerment and memory retrieval. He is a member of the Spanish Society for Neuroscience (SENC) and the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and has been a member of the executive committee of the European Brain and Behaviour Society (EBBS). He has conducted scientific advice for Editorial Ariel (Planeta Group) and Cosmocaixa of Barcelona. His major works of science are Emotions and Social Intelligence: The keys to an alliance between feelings and reason (Mina Catalan edition and Ariel 2006, 2007 and 2010 Spanish edition) How we perceive the world: an exploration of the mind and the senses (Ariel, 2012) and Learning, remembering and forgetting: key brain memory and education (Ariel 2014).
